6 MOST SPECTACULAR PROPHECIES FOR THE END OF THE WORLD
The Apocalypse is been hanging on the back mind of society ever since the Bible was published and the news that someday the world as we know it will end spread all over the world.
The number of books wrote on the topic, the large amount of talk that encouraged the world to be ready and the constant fear that a hatchet of doom hangs over the humanity’s head has ultimately generated a phobia.
Religious or not the fear of the Doomsday is more of a challenge people are ready to embrace. Each of the theories that started preaching this infamous day were one by one proven wrong but in spite of that and more important in spite of their lack of clarity and facts they continue to haunt the human imagination.
1. ISAAC NEWTON AND NOSTRADAMUS
The Dark Ages and Renaissance were pretty much hazed by the trend of the next prediction for Doomsday.
The image of a society where science was seen as witchcraft was conquered by the cabalistic prophecies of Nostradamus and next by Isaac Newton’s physics theory that ultimately gravity and the ability of Earth to sustain us will end.
2. DOOMSDAY BY MAJOR NATURAL DISASTER
Whether a giant volcano, the type of Yellowstone or the huge meteorite that is about to hit the Earth ending our age as it supposing did with the dinosaurs era are perhaps two of the most fascinating and popular theories.
The following earthquakes, floods and disasters are sure to end with mankind. Is there any surprise that Hollywood hits the jackpot with any new movie on the topic?
3. DISRUPTION IN THE EARTH PHYSICAL BALANCE
Perhaps the most plausible of the Doomsday theories, the reversal of the Earth’s magnetic poles has a scientific cause: the poles are switching once every few millenniums so since soon this is due, we should be worried.
Still since nobody was there when they last switched and science was wrong before…who can say for sure?
4. DOOMSDAY BY RELIGIOUS DAY OF JUDGMENT
Every religion or philosophical belief has a theory about the end of the world. Whether that is Bible prediction or any other type of religious vision this theory of doom was so many times preached and discussed that it will happen for sure that when one by one the theories were proven wrong the disappointment was equally great.
William Miller and his movement, The Halloween Armageddon, the Lucia Santos interpretation of Fatima message and Pope Innocent’s number of the Beast predictions are all proof how desperately we want this world to end.
5. DOOMSDAY BY ANCIENT CIVILIZATION PREDICTION
The Mayan calendar that stops in December 2012 was ultimately interpreted as the most realistic prediction of doom as crazy beliefs are concerned.
Being the most recent it has gathered a large amount of fans eager to show their belief and expectations that this one will surely come true. Didn’t anybody think that perhaps the poor Mayans simply did not have time to continue the calendar being extinct themselves?
6. DOOMSDAY BY EXTERIOR CAUSE
Here the possibilities are endless. If a solar flare will sweep over the Earth since it is also a trend the Sun followed the many millenniums of its life you can imagine that the world will go down in flames.
Carl Sagan’s prediction of an alien intervention has also fueled many theories that the end of our world will make us evolve into a more enduring species able to conquer the stars.
The bottom line is, did anybody consider that the world may actually live on to die of our hand as a society?
The other frequently used prophecies that allegedly seem to “predict” the end of the world are as follows:
1) The predictions of the Mayan Civilization – The Long Count of Mayan Calendar
3) The “I Ching“
5)The crashing of planet Nibiru on earth
6) The Predictions of the Web Bot
7) The death of the star Betelgeuse
10) The prophecies of Merlin
11) The Oracle of Delphi
12) The prophecies of Mother Shipton
14) The Bible (The revelation)
15) The Black Elk (Native American Oracle)
16) Predictions of the Hopi Tribe
17) The predictions of Nostradamus
18) The predictions of Edgar Cayce
Here are a list of detailed doomsday events that are speculated to be responsible for the extinction of humans and the end of the world scenarios. Most of the above given theories are either fabricated or misunderstood. Scientists reject most of the theories aces pseudoscience and conclude that the world will not end in 2012. You will be surprised to see the list of all predicted doomsday/apocalyptic events that all went wrong and did not come to pass.
